News: Lamb of God Holding "Free Randy Blythe Vigil"

Lamb Of God guitarist Willie Adler is calling to arms all Lamb Of God supporters in the Richmond, Virginia area to attend the ‘Free Randy Blythe Vigil,’ an event in support of Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe.

Adler posted the following statement to his official Facebook page. “Hey everyone, I want to thank all for the support first and foremost. I also want to share the link to the event this Sunday on browns island here in Richmond Va. An event spearheaded by Mr. Tommy Streat. It’s a get together for all who care to attend to show support for our brother Randy Blythe, and to voice our concerns over the travesty of justice that is currently unfolding. I hope to see you all there.”

Blythe is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by Czech police at the Prague airport on Wednesday, June 27. It is alleged that during a May 24, 2010 Lamb Of God concert, Blythe pushed a 19-year-old fan, who had climbed onstage, back into the audience. The fan lapsed into a coma and died of a bleeding in the brain fourteen days later.

Blythe was granted 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000) last week at a hearing in a Prague Court. While it was initially reported that Blythe would be freed on Monday, July 2, it now seems the frontman could remain in custody for another twenty days.

The ‘Free Randy Blythe Vigil’ will run from 1:00 pm until 3:00 on Sunday, July 8 at Brown Island Park. All members of the public are invited to attend and show support for Blythe and his family.
