Torture Division are a Swedish death metal band that have been around since 2007, and within that time frame have released eight demo tapes and two compilations along with one single. For those unfamiliar, the band provide all of their releases for free via download on their official website and even encourage others to distribute the content in any manner that they see fit. Torture Division have released a demo every year since their formation, none which exceed 10 minutes of material, and Satan, Sprit och Våld is no exception clocking in at just over nine minutes.

Quite possibly the most devastating release by Torture Division yet, Satan, Sprit och Våld is the first to feature all Swedish lyrics. Compared to their earlier content it's easy to hear the subtle improvement in production quality, a slight step up from last year's release Through the Eyes of a Dead, and immense step up in brutality with this latest installment. Deep, grinding guitar riffs backed by a hard hitting low bass line and drums that could make your heart burst in your chest from the rabid, frantic beats and palpitations. The vocals are deep, strong and gutteral, which compliments the overall crushing tone of the instruments even further. Everything here from start to finish is death metal at it's ultimate best.

One problem, as always, is the content is just too short. It feels like you just barely get a taste of what Torture Division have to offer before the sample platter is pulled away from your table prematurely. But then again, the band never charge for their releases and encourage others to distribute and sell their content in various ways, so the only funding they see is straight from their own pockets, maybe a few paypal donations and concert gigs.

A must hear for any death metal enthusiast and Torture Division fan. One will find themselves listening to this material over and over again and still the content fails to get old or stale. You can get Satan, Sprit och Våld along with all of the bands other releases right here at their official website. If you enjoy the content enough, make sure to give a Paypal donation... the music is free for download, after all.
